| Description: | Calgary Hip Hop duo SJ 12 celebrates the release of their debut album Water for the Soul, made to nourish, heal, and connect. SJ 12 brings together two veterans who have spent decades shaping Calgary's urban music scene. Solomon DaGreat an accomplished Afrobeat artist with nearly 2 decades of releases spanning Nigeria & beyond, and the co-founder of the YYC Live performance collective. Baby J, a multi-title freestyle champion & producer who was one of the writers on The Earth Tones' Juno-nominated album Blind Folded and Ready, & he has shared stages with Busta Rhymes, Naughty by Nature, Phife Dawg, The Pharcyde, The Game, all while living with legal blindness from Retinitis Pigmentosa. They blend real Hip Hop with Soul, R&B, and hints of pop to tell honest stories about love and life's trials, heard on the singles "Happy Days" and "Be Somebody." This is Hip Hop you can feel & relate to. Also ft. Isaiah Crawford from "Canada Shore". |
